To hold a brush and create is a gift. To use emotions as my medium is a vulnerability.
To touch the lives of others through my art is a sacred duty.
Linda Bilská
Bilská is a visual artist based in the Czech Republic whose practice explores the intersection of oil and acrylic painting with themes of psychological resilience. Her work serves as a study of the human condition—investigating how we navigate our inner worlds and translate internal experiences into a visual, material language.
Narrative & Process
Her primary focus is the exploration of reclamation following profound personal transition. She utilizes heavy textures and a vibrant, often chaotic palette to mirror the process of fragmentation and the subsequent rebuilding of the self. Her "material language" allows her to bridge the gap between fine art and advocacy, challenging systemic oversights regarding psychological violence and providing survivors with a tangible sense of hope.
Art as Advocacy
Central to her current body of work is a ten-piece collection dedicated to navigating the complexities of narcissistic trauma and psychological abuse. By isolating somatic experiences—such as the physical sensation of an anxiety attack or the agonizing dissonance of the "benefit of the doubt" stage—Bilská’s paintings become visceral reminders that the body "keeps the score".
Legacy & Connection
With a professional background in leading community painting courses dating back to 2018, Bilská views art as a powerful tool for connection and systemic change. Her goal remains to foster empathy and awareness, transforming the "fragility" often projected onto survivors into a conscious and monumental act of will.
There is something magical about connecting with other people on emotional level. Maybe we see the world the same way, maybe we have the same experience… Maybe we just need each other.
